Some of our first clients are still with us and we have had the privilege of becoming great friends.
Canny Group was established as S.J. Canny in 1960, by Stanley John Canny initially providing accounting services to the Geelong community.
Stan’s career started from humble beginnings. He worked from the offices of business clients before moving to a portable office cabin on Station Street. The business grew fast and there was a clear need for a bigger premises. This brought us a few hundred metres down the same street to what is still our current office at 10 Station Street, Norlane.
Stan has built an incredible reputation in his decades of loyal service to clients and the Greater Geelong community. There are countless stories of times he has gone the extra mile for clients, a value we still hold true in the way we do business today.
Canny Group is now in its second generation of Directors, with Amanda Wilkens and Krystine Canny-Smith at the helm. We value the relationships we have formed with all of our individual and business clients that have gotten us to where we are today. We particularly love the fact this includes children and grandchildren of original clients to the firm.
Over the years Canny Group has grown to become a specialist provider in accounting and taxation. We are also conscious of the changing business environment and the need to adapt. Our experience highlights the importance of innovation and providing services with the future in mind. This doesn’t start and end with us. It also includes sharing our knowledge and providing the right business advice to our clients to help them succeed, grow and achieve their business goals.
A new vision…
We had a clear vision of how we wanted to be able to help our clients and in 2015, we embarked on a new chapter which saw us rebrand from S.J. Canny to Canny Group. Our new group would encompass service arms Canny Accounting, Canny Advisory and the introduction of an additional suite, Canny Legal.
Since its inception, Canny Legal has been a vital part of Canny Group, complimenting many aspects of the services provided in the accounting and advisory areas.
